Young Thug and Gunna Release 30 Convicts At The Fulton County Jail

Young Thug and Gunna have used their fame and fortune to help reunite families with their loved ones. Both rappers Young Thug and Gunna posted on IG pictures of jail bonds which were used for 30 convicts at the Fulton County Jail this weekend.

According to Young Thug and Gunna, most of the now-bailed men and women were arrested over minor offenses but couldn’t get out of jail because of financial issues. Channel 2′s Michael Seiden met up with both\rappers at Cleveland Avenue Park on Sunday afternoon for a short interview of the moment.

Young Thug tried to get as many prisoners out of jail

“This is where we are from,” remarked Jeffrey Williams, who is also known professionally as Young Thug. “We just woke up and went to the jail with the lawyer and, you know, DA’s and the prosecutors, you know, the bonding companies and just got as many people as we can out.”

The rappers’ label, YSL Records, also released an exclusive video recording the warming moment dozens of convicts were freed from the Fulton jail. The video also included an emotional reunion between a father and his young son.

“You never know what somebody has been through. There was people sitting out three or four years and couldn’t get out on a bond,” said Sergio Kitchens, who is also known professionally as Gunna.

“If they did the crime, then they can do the time, then it’s all right. But it’s like you’re giving them a bond higher than what they stole,” Yung Thug stated.

The jail was over capacitated at one point

the beautiful act of kindness and help in the community follows two months after Channel 2 got a private insider of the Fulton County Jail where they occupied 2,900 inmates and 400 overcapacities at the time. “This is some of the worst conditions I’ve ever seen,” councilman Michael Bond told Channel 2 during a short interview

After the inmates were released to their families, the convicts were given a warm home-cooked meal and were also surprised when they learned that they will be featured in a brand new music video. “It feels so good to the point where you start feeling that’s why God put me here. He put me here to do this,” Young Thug said.
