Wale Drops ‘The Imperfect Storm’

“Resilient we are, we still here tomorrow. My dawg got looted, said it’s fair but it’s hard. America is gone, and here are the results. I’m tryna move different but to where ‘cause I’m lost” – Wale, “Movin Different”

D.C. native, Wale, recently removed all posts from his Instagram on June 18th and replaced them with a picture of what appeared to be the cover art for a new album with the caption, The Imperfect Storm.

The photo features a scene from the protest that took place on Los Angeles’ Fairfax Ave. on June 5th. Wale later shared a second image of the same art, but this time with blurred out text.

As fans speculated if this would be a new album, Wale dropped one more tweet that stated, “Midnight, let’s break everything… here’s the story”.

Eight months after dropping his sixth studio album, Wow… That’s Crazy, Wale has now dropped, The Imperfect Storm.

Wale’s friend, Kazeem Famuyide, even confirmed on Twitter that, The Imperfect Storm, was an EP recorded over the last two weeks. The six-track EP touches on topics such as the riots, protests, and the effects of COVID-19 happening across the globe. Specifically, “Movin Different” and “Empty Wishing Well”.

The album is currently available on all streaming platforms.
