Travis Scott surprised two unsuspecting teens with PS5s
It’s not unlikely for Travis Scott to surprise his fans, but this one was huge for two young boys. The two boys were asked “What were they expecting”, and one of the teens responded “not sure” as the other said, “not sure what to expect.” Just moments after the teens arrived at a designated area, Travis Scott jumps out of a PS5 branded vehicle holding two PS5s.
“We look up to him, as a person, as a role model just because he came from where most of us came from. He makes music for us,” one of the teens said after receiving his PS5.
Scott is really in a gift-giving spirit and we’ve yet to make it to the holiday season. In October, the rapper paid tuition for a Morehouse student. The “Sicko Mode” rapper even took time out to play a few games with the teens after the surprise. The two teenage boys were excited to receive one of the most highly sought after gaming systems in 2020.
It’s that time of the year again and the highly anticipated item Scott gifted the two teens with has been introduced to the market just in time for the holiday season. Last month, Sony announced a new partnership with Travis Scott and he would serve as a strategic creative partner.
Gamers ramp up following the announcement of PlayStation 5 release dates
Sony announced PlayStation 5 release dates which will be Nov. 12 and gamers quickly migrated to gaming blogs fighting tirelessly to get dibs on pre-ordered systems. President and CEO of Sony, Jim Ryan, announced the PS5 would be available in seven key markets including the U.S., Europe, Middle East, Southeast America, and South Africa. Price points for the gaming system range from $399.99 to $499 in the U.S.
Christmas is just around the corner and many were upset to see pre-orders were no longer being processed for the PS5. However, there’s good news. According to Inverse, retailers like Walmart, Gamestop, and Sony Direct will be restocking new consoles before Black Friday.
Expect website glitches when ordering game console
Regardless of availability, shoppers could experience issues when attempting to order or pre-order the PS5 when more become available. In past releases, shoppers experienced site malfunctions with certain retailers.
Walmart and Best Buy’s websites crashed due to the high demand. CNN reported, issues customers would experience while trying to order the PS5. once payment and shipment info finalized, an error screen would appear and shoppers would be required to start over. These glitches are expected to reoccur once restocked.
Gift givers may have a difficult task on their hands if a PS5 is listed at the top of someone’s wish list. I’m not sure if you’ve ever been to a Black Friday sale, but Christmas shopping can be considered an extreme sport. Good luck!
