Friday legend “Tiny” Lister Passed away.
Tommy “Tiny” Lister Jr., the actor and entertainer, has died at the age of 62. Lister, best known for his role as Deebo in the 90s classic Friday, was pronounced dead after law enforcement responded to a report of an unconscious man at his Marina Del Rey apartment at 3 p.m. this Thursday afternoon.
Upon arrival at his apartment, sources claim that Lister was unresponsive and authorities pronounced him dead on the scene. At this time there has been no cause of death identified by the coroner who arrived at the home later in the day.
Although he was best known for his role in Friday and its sequel, Lister was a talented actor and featured as many memorable roles over the years. He played President Lindberg in the cult classic Fifth Element, and starred as Zeus alongside Hulk Hogan in the 1989 WWF wrestling movie No Holes Barred. He also had small roles in blockbusters such as The Dark Knight, Zootopia, and Beverly Hills Cop II.
In addition to his movie roles, the man is known as “Tiny” was also in many TV shows during the 90’s which further solidified his fan favorite status. Some of the TV shows he appeared on included The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Martin, and Moesha.
Lister also has a lasting connection with Hip-Hop fans through his many music videos appearances. One of his most famous roles came as the police officer in Chamillionaire’s classic hit Ridin’ Dirty. Music fans will also recall that Tiny appeared in Michael Jackson’s Remember the Time video as an Egyptian Guard.
Tommy Lister Jr. is survived by his wife Felicia Forbes and his son Thomas Duane Lister III. He will be missed by his fans for his great talent and larger than life personality. Condolences go to his circle of family and friends during this difficult time.
