Snoop Dogg Sets Price for Commentary Deal

Uncle Snoop’s Voice is Priceless

This past weekend Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. held a celebrity boxing match for charity, but it was Snoop Dogg who stole the show with his lively commentary leading to discussions of a potential deal.  All over Twitter and other social media platforms, Uncle Snoop had many raving about his sportscasting.

Amidst the high praise, Snoop made a post on Instagram highlighting the accolades he received.  The post claimed the Long Beach emcee was “Barkley on Steroids” and a natural in the commentary.  The post also included a reference to a potential deal for Snoop of three years for $15 million.

Snoop has made cameos for several sporting events over the years mostly in the NBA.  His wit and hip-hop flavor shine through in calling the plays making him more relatable to the everyday sports fan.

Three potential sports networks were tagged in the potential offer and included Fox Sports, ESPN and NBA on TNT.  The admiration for Uncle Snoop’s versatility again shows how he has been able to maintain relevance for over 3 decades.

Snoop’s Impact on the Culture

Despite having a music catalog that is greater than most artists,  Snoop Dogg has grown in popularity from his moves behind the music.

During the 2020 Presidential election, Snoop hosted a special event called Press The Issue on his Youtube page discussing what the Black community would like to see from national leaders and law enforcement.

We have also seen Snoop rise to be a stabilizing force in the wake of tragedies like the death of Kobe Bryant. During the ESPYS, Snoop performed a track “Tribute to Kobe” helping to immortalize and uplift Kobe’s legacy.

Uncle Snoop has also given the culture great fan service this year when he participated in the popular Versuz series alongside DMX.  Going forward,  the Hip-Hop community will continue to watch Snoop with interest and admiration because of his authenticity.
