Just days after Atlanta police announced the felony murder warrant for YFN Lucci, the Atlanta native turns himself in.
Rayshawn Bennett professionally known as YFN Lucci is currently being held in Fulton County Jail, according to police. The rapper turned himself in on Wednesday.
Released audio of disturbing 911 call
TMZ released a 911 call made by a woman in Atlanta describing the incident. During the chilling call, the witness describes the victims last moments. “This man just took his last breath,” the caller repeatedly said after witnessing the victim been thrown from a white vehicle, according to the call. “He’s dying, he’s shot in the head. He just took his last breath man!” The 911 caller attempted to give dispatch as many details as she could amid the chaos, “They just pushed him out the truck and left him for dead.”
Lucci drops new video before turning himself in
Before turning himself in, Lucci posted to Instagram the release of a new video “Rolled On.” The post captioned Rolled On video featuring @mozzy OUT NOW #WMW3 raised a few eyebrows as the announcement of an arrest warrant didn’t deter the “Wonder Why” artist from posting to his social media account.
YFN Lucci faces multiple charges
Tuesday evening, authorities announced murder charges filed against YFN Lucci whose real name is Rayshawn Bennett. The Atlanta-based rapper faces multiple charges including felony murder, aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
This all stems from a shooting incident that occurred in southwest Atlanta in December 2020. Two separate shootings left one man dead and another injured. Police say the shootings are related and have made two arrests— 23-year-old Ra’von Boyd and 17-year old Leroy Pitts on similar charges in Miami for the Dec. 10 shooting.
One of the victims, James Adams, 28 was found with a gunshot wound to his face near Peeples Street. The second victim, 32-year-old Kevin Wright suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen survived, but police insist the shootings are connected.
According to AJC, the shootout occurred in the 900 block of Dimmock Street and the victims body was dropped off near the initial crime scene. Police say the surviving victim arrived at a nearby fire station.
