Pookie Loc’s Son Receives Death Threats Following Versuz.
Despite the Versuz battle between Jeezy and Gucci Mane being considered a huge win for Atlanta Hip-Hop and a shift in energy between Jeezy and Gucci, the son of the late Pookie Loc has been receiving death threats per his own testimony.
Quint “Leftside” Ross has been very vocal about the open display of disrespect Gucci showed for Pookie Loc when he played the controversial song “The Truth” in the Versuz. Pookie Loc’s son has received death threats as a result of his response to Gucci.
Ross went live to share his thoughts on Gucci’s words, and then came out today on Facebook continuing to state that his life is in danger. The aggressors are likely fueled by the 15 year feud between Jeezy and Gucci, and over the death of Pookie Loc.
More info about the Versuz itself can be found in our recap of the event.
Tensions Rise Despite Jeezy’s Intentions.
With Ross receiving death threats, the negativity of the moment diminishes the Jeezy’s message during the Versuz about rising above beef from years past. On the stream, Gucci accepted Jeezy’s olive branch symbolizing a truce between the two artists.
Pookie Loc’s death was among the starting points in the beef between Jeezy and Gucci Mane. Pookie Loc was Jeezy’s friend and CTE (Corporate Thug Entertainment) Labelmate who was killed by Gucci after storming his home.
Following the original recording of track “So Icy” by both Jeezy and Gucci, Jeezy released a diss track “Stay Strapped” where he rapped lyrics targeting Gucci. Jeezy went on wax, claiming he would give a $10,000 bounty for the return of his “So Icy” chain.
It was not until the two artists performed “So Icy” at the Versuz when it seemed that time had healed the wounds between them. However, with Quint Ross stating his life has been threatened following the Versuz it seems people outside of Jeezy and Gucci still hold animosity towards the situation.
