New Music: Juice WRLD x The Weeknd

There’s lots of new music coming out this weekend now get ready for another reason to celebrate. R&B singer The Weeknd and late rapper Juice WRLD have a posthumous record on deck. This week, the Canadian performer went online to let fans know a new collab is arriving this Thursday.

Juice WRLD’s first posthumous album, Legends Never Die (2020), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The album was the most successful posthumous chart debut in over 20 years and set a record for the most top-ten song entries on the Hot 100. The Weeknd broke the news of the collab on Twitter Tuesday.

The retweeted a 2019 post Juice made about them having the potential to put out a classic record together.

The Weeknd revealed little details about the single. Both artists have monopolized sales and streaming numbers this year, and it wouldn’t be shocking to many we saw the duo skyrocket to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in its first week. It would be less unexpected if it maintained that position for the weeks that followed. This Thursday, the collaboration will be hitting DSPs. The Weeknd hit Instagram with a photo of Juice WRLD with the caption, “XO + 999 Thursday Night.”
