NBA Youngboy Joins Motown Records

NBA Young recently joined Motown Records for a business opportunity through his Never Broken Again label, Music Business Worldwide.

NBA Youngboy remains a solo artist

NBA Youngboy plans to work with the label alongside Kyle “Montana” Clairborne in a brand new contract that links Motown’s “global leadership” with the “artistic and creative vision” of NBA YoungBoy and His label. He plans to sign and develop new artists while also still being signed to Atlantic as a solo artist.

“I felt like I had a responsibility to my artists to make sure to find the right partner for my label,” NBA YoungBoy wrote in a statement. “I’m looking forward working with Ethiopia [Habtemariam, Motown CEO and chairman], Kenoe [Jordan, Motown VP of A&R] and Motown Records.”

Additionally, Habtemariam stated, “I’m excited to work with Never Broke Again, a homegrown brand that has created an incredibly authentic and credible movement that represents the next generation in Louisiana’s legacy of ground-breaking Hip Hop labels. I look forward to working with YoungBoy and Montana to continue to grow their vision and reach their fans around the world.”

Things will take off in September

To get their partnership on the roll, the first single is scheduled to hit apple music in September, which is also including a compilation album in October. Never Broke Again Volume 1 contains 16 new songs with tracks featuring NBA YoungBoy, Quando Rondo, NoCap, P Yungin, Meechy Baby, Rjae as well as Rojay. Solo projects from young rappers, P Yungin and Meechy Baby will also be released in early 2022.

“I’ve known and admired YoungBoy for years,” stated Motown’s vice president of A&R, Kenoe Jordan. “Growing up in the same city, we have a great understanding of one another and this partnership was always something that I wanted to bring to Motown.

He proceeded, “YoungBoy is an incredible visionary whose confidence in his artistry is only outdone by his dedication and work ethic. I’m excited to welcome them into Motown and help bring the Never Broke Again label and brand to the next level.”

With good things heading the rapper’s way, he is still currently detained at St. Martin Parish Correctional Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on federal weapons charges.
