Megan Thee Stallion has had a very successful 2020 (which is well known), but compared 2021, it’s been quite silent for her. The “WAP” rapper has been featured on several songs and got a huge blockbuster bag after her verse on the Coming 2 America soundtrack “I’m A King” featuring Bobby Sessions.
Megan and her success
It hasn’t fully been a quiet year since Megan Thee Stallion released a single with “Thot Shit,” and managed to carry another W thanks to the LilJuMadeDaBeat and OG Parker-produced track.
According to Chart Data on Twitter, “Thot Shit” has accumulated over 1 million units in the United States, which makes it acceptable for a platinum certification by the Recording Industry of America (RIAA).
The song also has marked Megan Thee Stallion”s return following a month-long break, and the song’s music video became the No. 1 trending video on YouTube the day as soon as it was released.
We were all hoping the single would possibly lead into a new era with her next album but so far she has nothing. During her interview with Essence for their September/October 2021 cover, Megan Thee Stallion discussed about her upcoming project.
“I feel like [my new album] will be aggressive,” she said. “I feel like this project is definitely something very well thought out. This project is me talking my shit, getting back comfortable with myself, getting back to the Megan that was on the come-up.”
Megan continued, “Every time I make a move, I’m like, ‘OK, how can we be better than Megan last month? How can we be better than Megan last year?’”
