Good news: It’s gonna be a Hot Girl Winter.
Houston’s own Megan Thee Stallion is ready to make the big jump. Following a string of successful mixtapes and hit songs, the self-proclaimed “Hot Girl” wants the world to hear what she is truly capable of –– this time in the form of her debut album Good News.
Good News will arrive next Friday, November 20th, The “WAP” rapper announced today today via Instagram. Her latest single “Don’t Stop” featuring Atlanta legend Young Thug, was the first official single from the upcoming project.
Megan has not released the track-list yet, but we can expect features from Young Thug as well as a slew of other top tier artists.
After all that the “Hot Girl Summer” rapper has gone through this year with being shot by Tory Lanez, and the media’s subsequent depiction of her as a liar, the new album will hopefully put the situation behind her and help end the year on a high note.
Thee Stallion is more than a rapper.
Following the release of her “Don’t Stop,” The Stallion began a “Don’t Stop Scholarship Fund”, named after the song. The fund is partnered with Amazon Music’s Rap Rotation, and $10,000 will be given out to women of color who are looking to pursue higher education.
Meg has been very public about how her mother passed away while she was in school, so she wants to promote higher education in lower-income communities.
She has also been a huge voice in the Black Lives Matter movement. During her recent SNL performance she declared that “We need to protect our Black women. And love our Black women. ’Cause at the end of the day, we need our Black women. We need to protect our Black men and stand up for our Black men because at the end of the day, we’re tired of seeing hashtags of our Black men.”
In the upcoming days, we can expect more singles from Megan Thee Stallion and possibly even another music video. All we know for sure is that her fans will ride for her.
