Lil Wayne has announced his cannabis brand GKUA will be hosting a Los Angeles event called the ‘Young Money and Friends.” Lil Wayne made this announcement this Wednesday and his event is scheduled to happen this August.

GKUA which is run by Lil Wayne, launched at the closing of 2019, has recently closed an exclusive contract with the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for “all 4/20 events for years to come.” Since the established partnership, GKUA is expected to host numerous parties, performances, and other festivities for in-person and streaming viewers. Their very first event is planned to be held at the Torch at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum this August.
The anticipated event encourages Lil Wayne, Young Money, and general guest performances. The show is promised to take place on August 13, 2021, and will also be the grand opening of the Coliseum. “GKUA is about feeling inspired,” said Lil Wayne. “I’m looking forward to sharing that GKUA inspiration from the LA Coliseum. It is time to celebrate with friends.”

Tickets for the event will begin to go on sale on April 20th. and will be sold on Ticketmaster. KUA Creative Director Baqi Kopelman stated, “We are creating an experience that will allow you to party with some of the greatest hip-hop artists of our time and all your best friends.”
He continued, “whether you are able to attend in-person and be part of the celebration or you are viewing the event at home, this will be an intimate party and show in a fully immersive environment that will provide direct interaction with the artists and the designed experiences at the venue.”
GKUA will be hosting annual April 20 events at the Torch to celebrate 4/20, starting in 2022. Many plans are also being made and brought into cities. Lil Wayne and his crew are still unsure if they will have any COVID-19 safety regulations. They also aren’t sure if it’ll be safe to go to concerts in Los Angeles by August.
