Lil Wayne blessing families with turkeys for Thanksgiving
Yesterday, Lil Wayne announced that his label Young Money Entertainment will be giving away turkeys to the residents of Saint Charles, Missouri; New Orleans, Louisiana, and Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. Lil Wayne and Young Money Entertainment’s festive turkey giveaway will positively affect 500 households across the city.
“Tomorrow I’ll be giving back to the people and the city that raised me!” Wayne wrote online. “If you’re in Orleans, St. Charles, or Jefferson parish please visit the link in my bio and sign up to have a turkey delivered to your home. Happy Holidays,” Lil Wayne wrote on his Instagram and Twitter.
Other guests such as LaRon Landry of LSU will help Lil Wayne.
“The ideal goal and mission are to deliver to people that can’t make it out to purchase the essentials needed to have a blessed Thanksgiving.” Wayne continued, “Tomorrow I’ll be giving back to the people and city that raised me!! If you’re in Orleans, St. Charles, or Jefferson Parish please visit the link and sign up to have a turkey delivered to your home. Happy holidays!”
Many find Lil Wayne’s motive suspicious
Many may see Lil Wayne’s motive as another way to give back to his community, but others see it as a cover-up for being a Trump supporter. Several fans attacked the rapper’s gesture of ‘giving back to the community’ as they stated “we didn’t forget” his recent endorsement of Donald Trump.
One of the several fans then tweeted: “But you sold them (your people) out for a Trump endorsement. We didn’t forget. Go hand that out in your gated communities…. that’s all you looked out for when it counted.”
Just a couple of weeks ago, Lil Wayne shared a photo of himself with Trump, captioned, “Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured me he will and can get it done.”
