Lil Uzi Vert “mumbles alone.”
Following a trailblazing year, Lil Uzi Vert is looking to go back to his roots–– and apparently others are not welcome.
On Saturday Lil Uzi tweeted that he is “about to start mumbling again soon,” referring to one of the 2010’s most pervasive styles of rapping which he helped to popularize. Lil Xan saw his tweet as an opportunity to collab and commented “let’s mumble together.”
Unfortunately for the “Betrayed” rapper Lil Uzi is not looking to work with him. “I mumble alone,” he responded along with a depressed emoji and a broken heart.

Lil Xan has since deleted his request from Twitter.
While Uzi may mumble alone, he certainly does not rap alone. Only a week after the release of his long teased album Eternal Atake, Uzi dropped a feature heavy follow up, Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World 2. Cheif Keef, 21 Savage, Future, Young Thug, Gunna, Lil Durk, Young Nudy and Nav hopped on to help Uzi celebrate his victory lap, and starting 2020’s Deluxe Edition trend.
Last week Uzi and Future teamed up for a joint album, titled Pluto x Baby Pluto. That project is expected to debut at no. 2 on the Billboard 200 album charts with 110,000 equivalent album units.
The rise and fall of Lil Xan.
After permeating culture in 2017 with fleeting Soundcloud hit “Betrayed,” Lil Xan has failed to maintain a constant fan base. “Betrayed” is certified platinum, but failed to crack the Top 40, and his star-studded debut album Total Xanarchy was released to dismal reviews. “I can confidently report that there are no good lyrics on this album,” wrote Ben Beaumont-Thomas is his review for The Guardian.
Since then Xan briefly regained popularity for dating Miley Cyrus’ little sister, Noah, and smoking weed with her dad Billy Ray. He claimed in an interview following the relationship that his record label, Columbia, orchestrated the entire romance.
On November 12, Xan returned with his first song in seven months. The track, “My Girlfriend,” evidently was not impressive enough for Lil Uzi Vert. Check it out below.
