Lil Peep’s Momma Is Coming For More Money

Liza Womack, Lil Peep’s mother, has had a rocky relationship with her son’s label, First Access Entertainment, following his passing four years ago, and now claims the corporation must pay her millions of dollars upfront.

Lil Peep’s mom vs FAE

Womack (Lil Peep’s mom) alleges that First Access Entertainment owes Lil Peep’s estate $4 million in unearned royalty payments and that their unwillingness to pay is a part of a “transparent” effort to stymie the malicious prosecution case she launched against by the label in October 2019.

At a court appearance in Los Angeles on Tuesday (September 28), First Access Entertainment refuted the charges, alleging that any payment delays are the responsibility of Lil Peep’s mother.

“FAE is trying to choke off her funds by denying her the royalty revenue that they know she’s owed,” Womack’s lawyer, Paul A. Matiasic, said in the courtroom. “We believe that they’re woefully undercapitalized, we believe they have co-mingled the funds that are due to the estate, and we are very concerned that they’re going to squander that money away.”

First Access Entertainment, according to Matiasic, “confessed” it owed Lil Peep’s estate money. He also stated that his client’s connection with the label was “dysfunctional” and that it required judicial discretion.

Death in the family

John W. Amberg, a lawyer for First Access Entertainment, refuted these allegations, telling the court: “It’s not true that it’s dysfunctional. It also is not true that FAE owes the estate over $4 million. That’s simply not true. That’s just an argument used to gain someone’s sympathy here.”

Womack, according to Amberg, is causing rifts in the business partnership because FAE can’t “close” its books while she’s reportedly selling products and brokering outside agreements.

Lil Peep died at age of 21 while touring in Tucson, Arizona in November 2017. His  overdose of fentanyl and Xanax was determined to be the cause of death.

Peep’s mother accused FAE, among other defendants, of “negligence, carelessness, recklessness, and malfeasance” that led to her son’s overdose in a defamation lawsuit filed in October 2019.
