Lil Baby has greatly proven that he is worth being one of hip hop’s greatest breakthrough artists. Even after his “2020 Artist of the Year” mishap, which made many fans believe BET “robbed” his win and believed he should’ve won the award Lil Baby has been creating groundbreaking music.
Not to mention his second official studio LP was a huge commercial success. My Turn surpassed the Billboard 200 weekly chart five times and finally landed at #2 on the Billboard 200 Year-End album chart.
By the end of last year, Lil Baby had already earned a 2x-Platinum Certification
Lil Baby’s huge sales success gave him huge recognition and also led to the Recording Industry Association of America naming My Turn as the Top Album of 2020. Around late December, the studio album was only certified 2x-Platinum, until it was just recently announced as certified 3x-Platinum.
The RIAA recently awarded My Turn with a 3x-Platinum certification. This certified add-on only means My Turn is ha surpassed its 2x-Platinum stage. It also means the Quality Control album has sold more than 3 million units in the United States. Earlier yesterday, Quality Controls co-founder Pierre “Pee” Thomas went on Twitter to celebrate the unforgettable accomplishment.
My Turn displays a share of popular tracks that many of his fans enjoy.
The rapper’s album features singles “Woah,” “Sum 2 Prove,” “Emotionally Scarred,” “All In,” and “The Bigger Picture.” Lil Baby received two Grammy nominations for “The Bigger Picture” in the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance category. The hit is also the highest-charting record on the Hot 100 for Lil Baby.
Lil Baby released My Turn back in February 2020 and it initially rose at #1 on the Billboard 200 with 197,000 units. Lil Baby then created a deluxe edition, with an additional seven tracks which were released in May. The album contains popular features from 42 Dugg, Young Thug, Future, Rylo Rodriguez, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Wayne, Gunna, and Moneybagg Yo.
