Kim Kardashian has gotten herself in a bit of a pickle with the U.S government last week. The prominent Kardashian was apparently unaware her name was assigned to an ancient Roman artifact. This piece of art is now on the lookout and the U.S. government is now frantically attempting to return it back to Italy. The purchase of the Roman artifact was made by her estranged husband, Kanye West.
Kim and the feds
The U.S government claims a statute dating back to 1st or 2nd Century Rome somehow got shipped to the U.S. in 2016. The real problem for Kim is the paperwork noted “Kim Kardashian dba Noel Roberts Trust” as the representative and importer of the statue. Even though Noel Roberts did help Kim to make other big-ticket purchases — but a rep for Kim dismisses she executed this deal.
According to a close source connected to the situation, she found out last week that the piece was actually bought by Kanye as a section of a larger purchase. Although we are unclear if Kanye had bought it as a gift, or when he had planned on telling Kim, sources say she was “in the dark.”
Kim continues to say she had no knowledge of its purchase. Vervoordt told TMZ, “At this point, there is no evidence that this piece was illegally imported from Italy. If the investigation proves that the piece was actually exported from Italy without a proper export license from the Italian Ministry of Culture, then we will of course take our responsibility.”
