Kenneth Petty, who is also Nicki Minaj’s husband, has officially pleaded guilty to the failure of registering as a sex offender in California.
According to court documents that were gathered by TMZ and XXL, on Friday (September 10), Kenneth Petty listed his guilty plea on Thursday (September 9) in the United States District Court Central District of California through a video hearing.
Kenneth Petty’s fate
Kenneth could face the possibility of being locked away up to 10 years, a lifetime of administered release, a fine of $250,000 or twice the amount won or lost from the conflict, as well as a forced special charge of $100, if sentenced.
As we know, Kenneth Petty’s sentence has been scheduled for January 24, 2022. Just last month, he was hit with a one chance deal with the United States Attorney’s Officer for the Central District of California where if pleads guilty to one count of failing to register as a sex offender in his case he will be given a lower sentence in exchange. This was all based on the United States Sentencing Commissions guidelines.
Back in February 2020, Kenneth was turned over to the law after failing to register as a sex offender as a result of his moving day to California with Nicki in 2019.
Thankfully he didn’t run away like a fugitive and turned himself on March 4, 2020. Petty was also arrested in November of 2019 after a traffic stop, where is gave it all away once a police officer realized he was registered in his home state of New York, but not in California. He was soon released on $20,000 bail and finally to registered in California.
Adding on to Kenneth’s criminal history, he was charged for raping a 16-year-old girl back in 1995. Even though he was 16 years at the time…RAPE IS RAPE!
Kenneth served four years in prison on the rape charge, following him to register as a sex offender in the states he stays in. On Dec. 11, 1997, the New York State Board of Examiners of Sex Offenders assigned Petty as a Level 2 offender due to his 1995 conviction.
A month prior to Kenneth taking the guilty plea, both him and Nicki were sued
by his rape victim and were accused of harassing and threatening the woman.
