Kanye West held his first campaign rally Sunday in South Carolina, which was announced only hours in advance. The rally was held at the Exquis Event Center in North Charleston, SC.
“Hi guys please sign up to put me on the ballot in South Carolina at any of these locations,” West wrote, sharing a list of locations. “You can also sign up at the website kanye2020.country”. A hopeful Kanye announced the rally on social media while expressing his wish to acquire signatures to get on the ballot in the state.
According to ABC News, all attendees were asked to sign a COVID-19 liability release form, social distance, and wear a mask.

At one point during the event, Kanye was heard saying Harriet Tubman never actually freed slaves, “she just had them work for other white people”. In reports from the Hollywood Reporter, at one point he began hysterically crying on stage telling the audience that his wife Kim Kardashian-West almost had an abortion.
