Jeezy’s Respect For H.O. V

It is undeniable Jay-Z is definitely the one most rappers look up to, who can blame them? His great success throughout the years and the rapper was there for a lot of people including Jeezy.

In a interview for his episode of Uncensored which came out yesterday (Wednesday,) he was able to get a lot in about his lifelong relationship with the Brooklyn Native.

He noted moments he had with Jay and how he was one to count on, this included even dealing with  some brawls together.

They “both came from the same struggle, ” and have a great bond.

“His struggle started before mine and he started walking his path before me. So, I [looked at him]… like how I would look at somebody in the hood who was already getting money before I was, ” the 44-year-old rapper shares.

“A lot of people don’t know, we done been in some fistfights and everything.”

Then he mentions the fight, even when Jeezy’s label was letting him down at the time Jay-Z wasn’t letting go of his back.

“Some things popped off in Vegas… I gotta say, Hov’s got hands! ‘Cause we was getting down. We was back to back. I heard his assistant say, ‘JAY, get in the car!’ And he was like, ‘I ain’t leaving Jeezy!’ I was like, I rock with him.”

Jeezy also praises HOV for staying true to himself even when climbing to fame, he notes losing yourself is easy for most artists when they get to the top.

“Anybody can be an artist. Anybody can be a rapper. But when you start talking about life changing and being in a position that most of us never thought would be humanly possible… Balancing all that and not losing yourself, that takes a special kind of skin. And I think only a few of us have that.”
