Jamie Foxx Prepares To Play As Mike Tyson In New Series

Jamie Foxx is ready and prepared to release the portrayal of Mike Tyson to small screens in a brand new limited series. Jamie Foxx will in fact be playing as the notorious boxer many fans know and love. The project, which originally began as a movie in 2014, will be produced for television screens. Foxx will also executive produce the series with moviemaking heavyweights Antoine Fuqua and Martin Scorsese.

Jamie Foxx and Tyson prepare for series

Terence Winter was originally planned out to write the screenplay but then was replaced by newcomer Colin Preston, who has now been primed to pen the series. Last summer, Jamie Foxx impressed boxing fans when he revealed his bulked-up physique. Which he of course built up to get into character to play Tyson. Even though Jamie Foxx’s limited series isn’t the only one that tells the tale of one of the most notorious boxers on the planet, but it is the only one backed by Mike Tyson himself.

Mike Tyson freshly scorned and discouraged Hulu executives after they planned to air an ordered series, titled “Iron Mike,” from “I, Tonya” screenwriter and director Craig Gillespie and executive produced by Margot Robbie and Karin Gist. Mike Tyson of course did not like this agreement and the project was thankfully given to notable actor Jamie Foxx

Mike Tyson states, “I have been looking to tell my story for quite some time. Now feels like the perfect moment. I look forward to collaborating with Martin, Antoine, Jamie, and the entire creative team to bring audiences a series that not only captures my professional and personal journey but also inspires and entertains.”

Mike Tyson goes back in the ring

Besides Mike Tyson’s upcoming series, he has also made plans to go back in the ring to fight fellow boxer, Evander Holyfield.

“I just want everybody to know the fight is on with me and Holyfield,” Tyson announced during an Instagram Live gathering with Haute Living. “Holyfield’s a humble man I know that and he’s a man of God but I’m God’s man. Listen, I’m going to be successful May 29.”
