Will the next Verzuz be Bow Wow and Soulja Boy?
Bow Wow and Soulja Boy’s hatred and jealously over each other has been the whole outlook of their relationship. Back in 2008, rapper Soulja Boy made an outrageous accusation announcing that Nas “killed” Hip Hop, and of course, Bow Wow wasn’t going to let this slick gesture be pushed under the rug.
He replied to Soulja Boy with the track “Friend Or Foe” in which he rapped the following words, “I’d never disrespect Nas, I’m not Soulja,” hinting shade towards Soulja Boy. Rivalry and a huge amount of disrespect sparked, but slowly decreased as time went on. Even though the two rappers have claimed to be over their beef many still believe there is still something between them.
The Atlanta rapper made a feature at the Clubhouse app on experience
On the Clubhouse app, Bow Wow talked about his experience in life including his place in rap, addiction to lean, film career, and more. During the interview, Bow Wow also clarified rumors of his beef with Soulja Boy and said he was very interested in participating in a Verzuz battle with Soulja Boy.
Soulja Boy and Bow Wow fans were shocked by Bow Wow’s comment on the battle.
Bow Wow’s comment was way different from last summer, where he wasn’t willing to push through the competition. He adamantly declined the Soulja Boy face-off, saying it “not gonna happen.” Bow Wow also stated, “How Soulja makes fun turns music. I make r&b hip hop music for the ladies. How is that a good match up? You went crank that one minute then the next cry over an ex. That’s an emotional roller coaster.”
At the time, Bow Wow wasn’t promoting the idea of a Verzuz battle. He explained, “I don’t want to. Rather be getting money than playing songs yall heard a million times for an hour.”
Even though it sounds like Bow Wow has definitely changed his opinion on the Verzuz match, there may be a possibility of him switching up. There is no official date nor confirmation from Verzuz co-founders Timbaland and Swizz Beatz since they have so much to plan for the two artists.
But like always, social media always hypes up the idea and many are tweeting their opinions. So far many have sided with Bow Wow and others are clowning Soulja Boy for his lack of hits, while some simply don’t care.
