Car Accident Kills Frank Ocean’s Brother
According to multiple outlets, Grammy winner Frank Ocean’s younger brother Ryan Breaux was killed in a car accident on Sunday morning in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Thousand Oaks Police Department and Ventura County Fire Department responded about 1:30 a.m. to a crash at Westlake Boulevard, north of Skelton Canyon Circle. When they arrived, the vehicle was on fire and the two people inside were pronounced dead at the scene.
Victims in accident identified
The two victims were identified as 18-year-old Breaux and 20-year-old Ezekial Bishop. According to the L.A. Times, the family nor authorities have confirmed Ryan Breaux as one of the victims; however, friends of Breaux took to social media to confirm his death.
On Sunday night, Oaks Christian School president Rob Black tweeted about the loss of two of their own from the class of 2019.
Devastated to hear about two recent #OaksChristian graduates who passed away in an early morning car accident today. Praying for the families of these two young Kings: Ezekiel Bishop and Ryan Breaux. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

The investigation is still ongoing but it was reported the Tesla Sedan appears to have left the road and struck a tree in the center median. Ventura authorities stated the force of the impact tore the car in half. KTLA reported that speed is being considered a factor in the crash. Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy Wendell Campbell stated the speed limit on the road was “north of 45 mph” but people tend to pick up speed on that road due to the stretch.
Honoring Ryan Breaux
Actress Holly Robinson-Peete honored Ryan Breaux on Instagram stating, “Another life gone way too soon. Rest in peace young king @rryanbreaux. Too soon to have such a bright light extinguished.”
Ryan Breaux, like his older brother, had a passion for music. In 2011, Frank Ocean wrote a song dedicated to his brother called “Orion”. Later, Ocean included his brother on a song called “Futura Free” which was featured on the 2016 album “Blonde.”
Ocean, whose real name is Christopher Breaux, has not commented on the death of his brother.
