Eminem and 50 Cent have joined together again for a brand new project. According to TheWrap, 50 Cent has cast his fellow friend Eminem for a role in his forthcoming Black Mafia Family series coming to STARZ. It has been reported that Eminem will be starring as notorious FBI informant Rick “White Boy Rick” Wershe.
Recently 50 Cent wrote in a statement, “I’m honored and appreciative of my good friend Em for supporting my new show BMF We couldn’t do a show based in Detroit without incorporating the legend that is Eminem.”
Eminem stars as White Boy Rick
Eminem will premiere on tv screens as a guest appearance on the show for one episode as White Boy Rick (aka. Rick Wershe Jr.). Just in case if y’all are unfamiliar with who White Boy Rick aka. Rick Wershe Jr. is, Rick was a teenage drug dealer growing up on Detroit’s East Side.
By the age of 17, he had already created a name for himself in the drug business and was arrested by the FBI for cocaine possession where he was sentenced to life in prison. Eventually, White Boy Rick was eventually pardoned and released in 2020 after 32 years in jail.
Lawsuits and more
Back in 2018, his story premiered on big screens in a blockbuster starring Matthew McConaughey. Although the movie was a huge success, White Boy Rick recently filed a massive lawsuit against the FBI seeking $100 million in damages.
The series will be filmed in Atlanta and Detroit, Black Mafia Family is scheduled to debut on STARZ on September 26. Besides Eminem, the cast also includes Snoop Dogg, who will play a pastor, LaLa Anthony, Serayah, and many more.
