OVO Star Joins Forces with Nike.
Drake is looking to release a new drop for the holiday season in a collaboration collection with Nike. The Toronto mega star took to his social media platforms Saturday evening to tease a potential logo for his collaboration.
At this time it is unclear whether the collaboration includes a full set of attire or just the sneakers, but fans are still eagerly waiting for the drop. Drake continues his good business with Nike after shooting “Laugh Now Cry Later” at their headquarters in Oregon earlier this year.
In the lead-up to his upcoming album Certified Lover Boy, Drake dropped a collaboration set with Nike this past October. The merchandise from the collection featured the clothing worn by the rap superstar in his video for “Laugh Now Cry Later.”
Drizzy building steam for Certified Lover Boy.
As he has with all of his rollouts, Drake is using his partnership with Nike to get fans ready for Certified Lover Boy. Drake has already announced that the album will release in January 2021, meaning that there is plenty of time for more promotional singles and merchandise.
Drake also dropped another project this year, Dark Lane Demo Tapes, which featured songs such as no. 1 hit “Toosie Slide,” and the Giveon featuring “Chicago Freestyle.” The album received mixed reviews, still sold 223,000 copies its first week, debuting at no. 2 on the Billboard 200 album charts behind Kenny Chesney.
Throughout Drake’s illustrious career, he has maintained an unprecedented streak of relevance in the hip-hop world. He has maintained a streak of twelve straight top 10 albums, and is looking to extend it to 13 with Certified Lover Boy. Drake’s collaboration with Nike will hopefully help build buzz for the album release at the beginning of next year.
