De La Soul’s Soundtrack On “Spider-Man: No Way Home”
De La Soul is still left struggling even after spending countless time on their albums even after their soundtrack landing on the big screens from the famous Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The Struggle Is Real
Getting their work on DSPs has been an ongoing issue for the group of 3, and fans are outraged, to say the least, that their catalog is still unable to be streamed.
Fans were elated to find De La Soul’s work in the movie, you were even able to catch it at the end of the Spider-Man movie when the credits were steady rolling.
Their highly enjoyed song from their album 3 Feet High, Magic Number appeared and fans were not happy when they rushed to their favorite streaming platforms to not find the trio.
Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, nowhere to be found. The only albums available to listen to were The Anonymous Nobody and The Grind Date.
Many of their precious works have been released under Tommy Boy Entertainment, 6 projects to be exact with many samples being used.
3 Feet High and Rising contained a total of 60 samples and the label wiped many off of the album however a great amount was used for the physical copies from the project.
Because of this, there is a great risk of lawsuits being thrown if streaming was made available.
In resolution, De La Soul had offered to perform the clearances themselves but was unable with Tommy Boy.
Hopefully, we will be able to enjoy the trio’s music soon.
