Dave Chappelle The Closer
DaBaby’s career really did take a huge turn when he made controversial comments about the LBGTQ community. Comedian Dave Chappelle touched on the situation that happened in the summer on The Closer special.
Dave Chappelle‘s eyebrows were raised questioning how DaBaby was getting “cancelled, ” because of his homophobic comments being he killed somebody at a Walmart in 2018 and no one was mad about that.
“A lot of the LGBTQ community doesn’t know about DaBaby’s history,” Dave Chappelle says.
“He once shot a n-gga and killed him in Walmart. Oh this is true, Google it. Nothing bad happened to his career. Do you see where I’m going with this? In our country, you can shoot and kill a n*gga, but you better not hurt a gay person’s feelings.”
But are the two really comparable?
There was no outrage because DaBaby was cleared because it was ruled an act of self-defense because the rapper claimed the 19-year-old was attempting to rob him.
Since DaBaby’s homophobic, anti-LGBT comments he has been booted from numerous festivals.
He was removed from Lollapalooza, Day N Vegas, Governors Ball, and more which definitely took a toll on his career especially over the summer.
