It has been reported that Damon Dash continuing to sell his stake in the hip-hop record label Roc-A-Fella Records!
A rocky road for Damon Dash
It has already been known Damon Dash been ready to sell his 1/3 ownership stake in the hip-hop label he co-founded in 1995 with Jay-Z and Biggs, Roc-A-Fella Records. Even though he’s currently in a legal battle with Jay-Z, for attempting to sell the copyrights to “Reasonable Doubt”, his quest is still in motion.
Previously,Jay-Z and his lawyers obtained a temporary restraining order against Damon Dash which was put into action because Damon Dash attempted to sell off Reasonable Doubt as an NFT through an auction with a company called SuperFarm.
Brand new gallery
Earlier this week, Damon Dash shared a message on his Instagram page to announce a company called Dash NFT Gallery.
Additionally, the highest bidder will also receive a commemorative NFT called It’s The Roc (2021) representing a certificate of ownership.
“Own a moment in time when Reasonable Doubt changed hip hop culture. The album that influenced and touched so many lives,” Damon Dash’s posted.
Besides his post, a judge declined Damon Dash’s attempt to stop a meeting between Roc-A-Fella Records shareholders Jay-Z and Biggs.
Damon made multiple claims that Jay-Z was attempting to “take over the company as the Director illegally, and change the bylaws to indemnify himself against legal action in another lawsuit raging between the friends-turned-foes.”
Damon Dash added the fact that Jay-Z cost him millions of dollars by “interfering with the sale of his ownership in the label, claiming the negative press surrounding the lawsuit had cost him several potential deals.”
The next official court date is on July 28. He has also amde an announcement of a July 23 date for his auction to sell off his 1/3 ownership stake in Roc-A-Fella Records as an NFT, which it’s payout estimate between $10 and $30 million.
