Charolette Rapper Arrested for Firearms
On January 7 while visiting Beverly Hills, “Rockstar” rapper DaBaby was arrested for illegal possesion of a firearm. As the DaBaby was leaving the Moncler Store on Rodeo Drive, authorities surrounded DaBaby’s vehicle and detained him with handcuffs.
Reports came from TMZ stating that someone from the store that DaBaby was visiting tipped the authorities to him having a weapon. TheShadeRoom Twitter account was able to find footage of the incident as it was happening.

While this is not the first time DaBaby has had run-in with law enforcement, it had been some time since he was last involved with anything of this nature. In his past, he has faced multiple assault charges from getting into fights with everyone from fans to promoters.
As recently as last week he was spotted in Miami with Lil Wayne working on new music. While in Miami, DaBaby was also seen with Diddy soaking up game for his own ventures with Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment.
Aside from this arrest, DaBaby is also still dealing with the passing of his brother Glen Johnson who committed suicide back in November of 2020. To honor his passing he dropped the EP My Brother’s Keeper expressing the pain he felt in the wake of the tragedy.
DaBaby was also nominated for several awards at the Grammys that were recently postponed. He is nominated for Best Rap Performance (BOP), Rap Song of the Year, Best Melodic Rap Performance, and Record of the Year (Rockstar feat Roddy Ricch).
The Charlotte rapper has also discussed what his plans after music are claiming that he would retire in five years. Although no new details have formed in his arrest, DaBaby and his supporters are hoping to place this setback behind him as soon as possible to keep those plans on track.
