Charlamagne Inks Extension With iHeartMedia

Charlamagne Tha God signs five year extension with iHeart.

Breakfast Club personality Charlamagne Tha God just signed a five year extension with iHeartMedia. The extension has him signed with iHeartmedia until 2026, and officially puts to bed the rumor that CTG would soon be leaving The Breakfast Club.

As the new Senior Creative Officer of Culture Content and Programming, Charlamagne is now responsible for scouting and recruiting talent for iHeart’s podcasts and radio shows.

Upon the news of his extension, Charlamagne released the following statement:

“I give my sincerest thanks to iHeart for empowering me over the past decade to be the best talent that I can be, and for honoring me as an owner and executive, I love the audio business and iHeart is the biggest and best audio company in the world.”

The Breakfast Club star reflects, plans for the future.

CTG is also planning an upcoming interview show streamed exclusively through iHeart, thereby making full use of the new powers he possesses in the company. The new show is expected to be centered around long-style discussions with different athletes, entertainers and politicians.

The Breakfast Club will be celebrating its tenth anniversary this month, and Charlemagne took time to reflect on this part of his journey with iHeart through social media.

“10 years @breakfastclubam Thank You GOD. Thank You To The Listeners. This is the first promo video we ever recorded together. We didn’t have promotion and marketing budgets back then just the internet…10 Years Later. GOD IS EVERYTHING.”

Going forward CTG looks to make the most of his position stating his goal is to “continue to move the culture of radio and podcasting forward by curating a new era of voices, programming, and events.”

Earlier this year, Charlemagne also co-founded the Black Effect Podcast Network. The network has penned deals with many black owned podcasts such as N.O.R.E’s Drink Champs, All The Smoke hosted by Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson as well as the 85 South Show.
