B.M.F. co-founder Demetrius Flenory– who is also known as “Big Meech” has received the exciting news that his prison sentence has been reduced. On June 14th, U.S. District Judge David M. Lawson granted to decrease Big Meech’s prison sentence from 360 months to 324 months.
Originally, Big Meech was sentenced to a dull prison term back in ’08 but now it’s a 3-year reduction for him. Big Meech, who was originally supposed to be released from Sheridan FCI in Oregon on November 25, 2031, will now be released in 2028.
Big Meech’s history
Back in the day, Big Meech was sentenced for running a national Continual Criminal Enterprise and Conspiracy To Launder Money Instruments which in total gathered over $270 million in drug proceeds from the late ’90s until the Feds finally caught up to B.M.F’s money scheme in ’07.
In April 2020, Big Meech (sentenced to 30 years) and his brother Terry Flenory, who goes by “Southwest T” (also received 25 years) both filed for compassionate release, indicating their danger in catching COVID-19 in jail.
Southwest T was released from his 25-year prison sentence to home confinement since he had a higher risk of catching the coronavirus. Unlucky for Big Meech who attempted to use the same excuse, a judge and an appeals court denied his request four separate times.
Nevertheless, Big Meech’s recent sentence reduction actually has nothing to do with his request for compassionate release. He met all requirements for a sentence reduction USSG amendments 782 and 788, which reviewed the drug quantity and chemical quantity tables for all drug offenses. The new sentencing guidelines were eligible to be applied to drug cases prior to November 1st, 2014.
Big Meech has already served 16 years in prison with insignificant issues also around that time he has improved a lot. Additionally, he has accomplished so much behind bars– he earned his GED and completed a 24-month special management program. He is also currently finishing up health awareness, money management, and parenting classes.
The ex-drug lord has also revealed he will be pursuing a new program called “Build More Families” to rebrand B.M.F. and even though he was behind bars, he’s done so much for his community such as planning community events, back-to-school drives, and basketball contests.
Additionally, Big Meech’s life story will be debuting on Starz. 50 Cent has agreed to produce a drama on the Black Mafia Family, which will co-star Big Meech’s son, Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory.
