Beyoncé Slays Grammy Scene
Amid nominees being announced for the 2021 Grammys, Beyoncé has managed to break another record with nine nominations for one award show. At this point in her career, Bey has separated herself from her peers as a true superstar through her amazing performances and empowering music.
Evidence of her superstar status can be seen in her being nominated for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best R&B Performance, and Best R&B Song for “Black Parade”. “Brown Skin Girl” received a nod for Best Music Video while “Black is King” was nominated for Best Music Film.
Her feature on Meg Thee Stallion’s “Savage Remix” also granted Beyoncé nominations for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. With this many nominations, Beyonce’s legendary work ethic and range are on full display.
One of the Most Decorated Artists in Grammy History
With her career as a solo act and a member of Destiny’s Child, Queen Bey has been nominated for a Grammy more than only a few other people in the history of the Recording Academy. With the inclusion of the nine nominees this year, Beyoncé has been nominated for a total of 79 Grammys throughout her career which is tied for second-most with Paul McCartney. Only Jay-Z and Quincy Jones have received more nominations.
Of those 79 nominations, she has received 24 awards from the Academy, proving that her success is recognized by both fans and critics alike. Beyonce has the potential to win and become the artist with the most Grammys if she can secure eight of her nine nominations.
Even if she wins four of her nominations, Beyonce will become the most awarded female artist in the history of the Grammys. With her track record of excellence extending through her many ventures of fashion and entertainment, Bey is poised to add to her run at the upcoming Grammys.
