2 Chainz Speaks out on Fentanyl

With the recent death of actor Michael K. Williams, as well as Hip Hop artists Shock G and DMX and comedian Fuquan Johnson…all caused by drug dose, this has urged a populated amount of people to speak out on it, which include Goodie Mob legend Big Gipp and 2 Chainz.

 

Fentanyl on the rise

WSB-TV Atlanta reports about five people have died in Atlanta over the past week from the intake of cocaine laced with Fentanyl…a synthetic version of the opioid that’s 80-100x stronger than morphine. wow.

According to the Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition, a faulty batch of painkillers traveled around Little Five Points, Virginia Highlands, and Inman Park, killing people who didn’t have a tolerance for the drug. Thankfully 2 Chainz and Big Gipp, they’re influencing the stop the usage of strong drugs.

2 Chainz hosted a Fentanyl-free party for his 44th birthday at the Members Only Lounge in Atlanta he entitled “No Fent.” The 70s theme party was definitely filled with a surplus supply of mushrooms and marijuana, but no opioids were seen on-premises.

Additionally, Big Gipp, a hometown local, issued a frightening warning on Instagram on Sunday (September 12), explaining that the substance is even being sprayed on marijuana, which he has personally witnessed.

“Listen man,” the post read. “Yal be careful who u buying weed from who u smoking with. i got laced with fentanyl had multiple seizures could of really check outta here.”

he added the caption, “#BackWoodz @throwedoffjuan. Stay woke shit ain no game i wanna thank my family and Grady staff for getting me back right LifeNote…#PayAttention.”
